Monument (mänyəmən), noun
A lasting evidence, reminder, or example of someone
or something notable or great

Who will speak for the water, who will hold it?

The story of bitumen doesn’t end in Alberta. Crude oil is transported through pipelines, and other means, many thousands of kilometers away from the place where it is taken from. Some of the black gold excavated ends up on tankers, bound for refineries across oceans. So, the story of bitumen is also a story about water.

What if we felt a sense of pride, of patriotism for water, instead of the flag of a state? Here, water can be the flag, and it can replace the marble monuments that are rightfully being toppled, as an entity worthy of our ardour.
